My name is Courtney Funkhouser. I live in a small town in Pennsylvania called Birdsboro. I am married to my wonderful husband, Nick. We have a beautiful daughter name Parker and a wild and crazy dog named Gibson. I also have a slight addiction to coffee, which gets me in trouble sometimes.
Why photography ?? To me, photography is about the moment. That one moment that can be anything. The laughter between siblings, the way the sun is shining through the trees, the joy on the face of new parents, even a simple sunrise. These moments mean everything, they tell a story. To capture that special moment, someone’s true identity or emotion and make it into a memory that lasts a lifetime.
In addition to being a photographer, I am also a full time nurse and a nanny. Being a caregiver is just part of who I am. I have been lucky enough to have been there for some of the most important moments of people’s lives; from first breaths to first steps. My experience with children means that I am uniquely able to set your little ones at ease. They’ll be having so much fun, they won’t even know I’m working.
I am also an outdoor enthusiast, who loves to travel and explore whenever I get the chance to. I am always up for an adventure. You want your photos taken on top of a mountain, count me in!! I have spent many hours with my family fishing, hunting, and exploring the outdoors. My love for the outdoors is what opened my eyes to photography. That’s where it all began!
Photography has made me look at life in a more meaningful way. The little moments that often go unnoticed are what truly means the most to me. Every time I pull out my camera and capture a new moment I fall in love with photography all over again.
